Forecasters say Hurricane Fausto has strengthened into a Category 2 storm in the Pacific Ocean and is expected to approach the Hawaiian Islands next week.

Tropical Storm Bertha makes landfall; Nolan Wells preliminary autopsy results released; Manhunt for suspected murderer in disguise; and more on tonight’s broadcast.

Tropical Storm Bertha became the second named storm of the 2026 Atlantic hurricane season July 20. As of July 21, Bertha is expected to remain a tropical storm as it moves slowly across the Gulf. Forecasters are predicting Bertha will strengthen slightly before gradually weakening later this week.

The National Hurricane Center said an area of low pressure was strengthening, producing thunderstorms near its center.

Tropical Storm Elida is expected to bring muggy, warm weather to the San Francisco Bay Area, the Sacramento Valley and California coastline.
